• All Leaders noted above are "Tapered" (i.e., Thicker in the Butt- Thinner in the Tip).


• Tapers vary from more or less "Straight" (i.e., a consistent decline in diameter throughout the length) to radically "Compound" (i.e., typically a slower decline in diameter through the butt and mid-section with a sharp drop-off in the tip section).


• Compound tapers are usually found in "Specialty" Leaders (e.g., Hand-Tied, Steelhead/Salmon, Striper, etc.)


• For those whom prefer a "Loop-to-Loop" connection between Fly Line and Leader, while a standard"Surgeons Loop" will work, the recommended method for creating a loop on a leader is a "Perfection Loop" (you can better control the size of the resulting loop- the smaller the better!)
