| Our
Scheduling Options
In order to provide our customers with the best opportunity to catch fish, we are proud to offer the first of its kind "flexible" scheduling options. Our full day trips assume a minimum of 8-hours on the water. Our guides usually stay out longer - The
Vacationer
-Departing the shop at a leisurely 9:00am, you will arrive at your destination between 9:30 and 10:00 AM and spend the warmest part of the day fishing! This is the best option during the early spring, late fall, bass trips; and anytime you just want to relax and take it easy…
- The
Early Bird - Departing the shop in the dark, you will arrive at your destination just as the sun is rising and spend the morning and early afternoon enjoying some of the best fishing available! All of our gorge trips are Early Bird’s.. We also encourage you to take advantage of this option (or the Night Owl) once the big mid day hatches have ended.. This ensures that you are on the water for the best action.
- The
Night Owl
- Departing the shop in the early afternoon, you will arrive at your destination as many others are heading home and spend the afternoon and evening enjoying some of the best fishing available! Coming off the water in the dark is great as things are real quiet.. After the spring mayfly hatches have ended, the Kennebec gets nightly caddis hatches.
- The
Fanatic -
Combining the "Early Bird" and "Night Owl" with a break in between gives you the absolute best chance at seeing the finest fishing we have to offer!
- The Overnight - Combining the "Early Bird", "Night Owl" and ANOTHER “Early Bird”, with a break in between the first two to set up camp and enjoy a hot lunch and a break into between the second two to enjoy a hot dinner; gives you not only the absolute best chance at seeing the finest fishing we have to offer; but a evening of camping/fishing on a stretch of river that can only be reached by boat
Please note that you will be charged the "Full Day/Float" rate plus an extra $50 for Fanatic hours to cover a second shuttle, second boat launch, additional driving time on the part of the guide, etc. Also note that you can mix float, wade, and pond trips – your call.
Half Day Trips
Unless previously agreed upon, half day trips will be offered only for Early Bird and Night Owl hours. In fairness to the guides we cannot expect them to give up their whole day for a half days wage. We do however make some concessions if all parties agree ahead of time. Some noted exceptions are dead summer when the mid-day fishing is slow and lat fall when we do not have enough light to get in a full day.
