In our opinion, the 5-weight rod is the most versatile fly rod. Light enough for protecting 5-6x tippets yet heavy enough to throw all but the heaviest streamers. If you are in the market for a 5-weight fly reel, please select the appropriate list to best satisfy your special requirements (manufacturer preference, physical weight requirements or budget).
