A
familiar name in most angling circles, "Royal Wulff Products"
(better known as simply "Wulff") founded by fly fishing
pioneers Lee and Joan Wulff offers a series of fly lines in a unique
and proprietary taper referred to as "Triangle Taper".
While best known for the style of fly bearing the name (who hasn't
fished a "Wulff"?), Wulff fly lines have just as loyal
a following.
Love
them or hate them (there seems to be no middle ground here!), Wulff's
"Triangle Taper" (TT) lines are if nothing else, different!
Constructed with a Front Taper, Rear Taper, and Running Line, TT's
cast like a Weight Forward (WF) yet present like a Double Taper
(DT). So, what's not to like about them? Where not sure but while
some won't fish anything else, some won't even try them!
With
continuous Front Tapers between 27' and 40', TT's unrolls like a
DT (when casting within the range of the taper). Conversely, when
you cast beyond the taper, you find a thin Running Line that reduces
friction and performs like any other WF. Add to this better than
average "Roll Casting" due to the continuous taper and
you have a very versatile Fly Line! Try one and see for yourself.
Note:
Wulff manufactures a number of fine Fly Lines that are not mentioned
below. In addition to adding new lines to our standard inventory
on a regular basis, we will gladly order any Wulff products that
you are looking for.
